FAQ

Why did you move your blog?

We moved the blog mainly for aesthetic reasons. We are not professional computer techies, and were having a hard time customizing our blog since we don't know much html code. We did not want our lack of expertise to reflect in the visual quality of our blog, and felt our Blogger was getting a bit cluttered and outdated.

Will this blog be deleted?

For right now, we are not deleting this blog. We don't know how to re-route links, and would hate for someone to get an "error" message if they tried to access our Blogger blog. That's not to say we won't delete this blog in the future, so please subscribe to our new blog so you don't lose us forever!

Turning 21

Every year when we have a birthday, deep down (in some remote, Godforsaken place we don't want to admit exists) we hope THIS BIRTHDAY WILL BE DIFFERENT. Sort of like every New Year when we make universe-bending resolutions that will statistically be impossible to keep. At every birthday someone will inevitably (jokingly) ask, "Do you feel any different?" and you'll chuckle awkwardly, averting your eyes and mumble, "Not really" while secretly wishing you did. We all want to experience some earth-shattering change, some  tangible evidence that a year of life has passed and you are now a better, more intelligent and mature person because of it. But alas, there is no spark. No electrifying feeling when you wake up. No visible change when you face yourself in the mirror. Just the same-old, same-old you. As if nothing of any significance has happened.

I struggle when writing these blogs. Taylor’s writing is so colorful and perfectly crafted that sometimes I feel like my words look like a pile of poop in comparison. I think there’s definitely some truth in that because she would never ever place the words “pile of poop” in a published blog. So I guess I’ll just talk about whatever comes to mind, once I’m done explaining a little about this look (: You guys will get to learn more about me, what I’m like and what I stand for. A little fun, a little serious...lemme know what you think, cuz it is a little different!

I'd like to start off by addressing the title of this blog. As songwriters living in Nashville for the past two years, Chloe and I have listened to a lot of original songs. But one that's really stuck out to us was a song we heard at Puckett's "Rising Star" in Franklin, TN (a suburb of Nashville). We can only remember that one (rather superb) line , but hats off to the guy who wrote it! 'Cuz we're still singing it to this day, with only ever hearing it once.

Kicking off a summer tour in Minnesota has its perks. While the weather wasn't what we had anticipated (40-some-degree weather and torrential downpours), we've been able to catch up with friends and reminisce about the good old days.

Being in our hometown, some of those friendships go waaaayyy back...dating as far back as 20 years ago, when Taylor and our friend Stephanie were only a year old. We grew up in the same neighborhood, rollerblading to our boom box in the garage, making up dance routines on the driveway, DJ-ing our own radio shows on casette tapes and eating Fla-vor-ice Freeze Pops on hot summer days.

...and not much has changed since.
