Right on Target

Here at Chasing Lovely, we're all about style on a budget. It's important that our fashionable finds are unique, reasonably priced, and relatively easy to find. We enjoy thrifting every now and then, but with our crazy busy schedules, don't always have time to sift through the "meh" to find a gem.

One of our absolute favorite go-to places is Target. Based in Minnesota, it's no surprise we've become bff's with this multi-faceted company. We love the atmosphere, the makeup aisles, and occasionally do some of our grocery shopping there (more often when there's a SUPER Target--hint, hint Nashville!).

But lately, we've fallen head over heels for their fashion. Target is super good about staying on top of the latest trends, whether it be knee-high socks, wedge sneakers, or bright pops of neon color. The best part? They won't eat up your wallet like it's pizza on Superbowl Sunday.

This year we've been avoiding clothing retailers like the plague. Not because we don't love new outfits (we're girls, let's be real), but our motto is you can't want it if you don't know it exists. Research has repeatedly shown that the more time you spend in a store, the more likely you are to spend impulsively. Well, duh...

That being said, you don't want to restrict yourself to a point where you finally come out of hibernation and go on a crazy shopping binge. In the wise words of my mom: everything within balance. 

Part of that "balance" for us was taking a little tour around the women's clothing section during a recent errand run. And boy, did we strike gold. The accessories section (my Target weakness) is placed conveniently near the front of the store...at every Target location. Smart move. I was actually on a mission to find a new, affordable bag (since my quilted Express pouch is basically hanging on by a thread) when I came across...

...THIS SCARF. Yes, I wrote that in all caps for a reason. This is possibly the most gorgeous scarf I have ever laid eyes on in my entire life, and whaddayaknow, I found it at Target! The floral print, the minty-blue-seafoam-green hue... *swoon*

I can't take credit for the jacket, though. That one was all Chlo. An added bonus: she found it on sale! WAY TO GO CHLO!!!

So this is basically what we do all day...make weird faces at each other. We also enjoy laughing at our own jokes and making cat calls. Just ask our mom ;)

Anyways...what happens when you put two amazing pieces together? You get one awesomely fantastic look! This is prime outfit-repeating material, folks. I, being the notorious outfit-repeater that I am, should know. LOUD AND PROUD! 

Since we basically share all our clothes, it's especially exciting when we find an outfit that looks good on us both. With my red hair and pale skin, and her brown hair and all-year-round-even-when-it's-winter Hawaiian glow, this is not always the case. But it seems the color scheme complements anyone (so go grab 'em before they're gone!).

For those of you worried about looking too "badass biker chic" in your leather, a scarf like this one adds a nice feminine touch.

If you don't own a pair of Chucks, you have not discovered the amazing versatility that a shoe can be. The classic black is my favorite, but true Converse enthusiasts can't seem to limit themselves to just one pair. If only I could get my hands on the Woolrich x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star collection from a few years back... *sigh*

What made these "finds" a true success is how much use we've gotten out of both of them. We wear the faux leather jacket nearly every day, and while we don't don the scarf quite as often, I enjoy gazing at it lovingly on its days off.
